The Best Pumpkin Crème Brûlée You'll Ever Have

Posted on 07:00 by gaurav kumar
Happy Halloween! I have a treat for you today. Have you ever made creme brûlée? My mom recently had the great idea to serve the rich custard at dinner parties and then pass around a little torch so everyone can burn the hard caramel on top of their dish. It's a spectacle! Both grown-ups and kids adore it. Well, lucky for us, Karen Mordechai of Sunday Suppers has agreed to share her pumpkin-flavored recipe...

The Best Crème Caramel You'll Ever Have

Posted on 07:06 by gaurav kumar

Have you guys ever had crème caramel? The chilled custard flan (in a pool of caramel!) is a delicious French dessert, which my mom used to make every time we had guests. "When we moved to France, I took cooking lessons at a French woman's apartment, and she showed us how to make it," my mom told me. The recipe for crème caramel may look tricky but "it's really cool to know how," she says. "Once you master the caramel, it's not hard." Well, lucky for us, the gorgeous blogger Mimi Thorisson, who lives the French countryside with her husband, kids and fourteen dogs (!), agreed to share her all-time go-to recipe...

The Best Pesto You'll Ever Have

Posted on 07:00 by gaurav kumar
A few years ago, Alex made pesto for dinner from scratch. Until then, we'd only had pesto from a jar, which was dark green and tasty. But this homemade pesto took it to the next level. We couldn't believe how bright and vibrant it was, and it tasted like we were eating basil right out of the garden. So I'm thrilled that Kelly from The Best Remedy is sharing her favorite recipe (and it's easy!)...

The Best Milkshake You'll Ever Have (with a Secret Ingredient!)

Posted on 07:00 by gaurav kumar
Alex has taught me the beauty of milkshakes. Before we met, I always preferred cookies or ice cream. But then he explained, "Milkshakes are like licking the cream off the top of a pail of fresh milk in a barn; fresh and delicious." They're the perfect sweet afternoon treat. Luckily, Tara from Seven Spoons agreed to share her favorite recipe (with a secret ingredient)...Read More >

The Best Hummus You'll Ever Have

Posted on 06:30 by gaurav kumar
When I was 23, broke and new to New York City, I had two choices for dinner: spaghetti with tomato sauce, or hummus and bread. That's all I could splurge on. So I got to know hummus very well. Mostly I had the store-bought kind, but now and again I'd make my own, and it won by miles. And the best of them all is this one by Sara Forte of Sprouted Kitchen (with herbs!)...

The Best Corn on the Cob You'll Ever Have (With Herb Butter!)

Posted on 05:00 by gaurav kumar
When we were growing up in Michigan, we would eat corn on the cob almost everyday in the late summer and early fall. We'd slather it with butter or shave it into salads, and I even loved to eat cobs raw (have you ever tried that?). But the recipe that tops all others is this incredible one from Rachael of Tokyo Terrace, below...

The Best Lemon Cake You'll Ever Have

Posted on 07:15 by gaurav kumar
When we're visiting my grandmother in England, she always serves afternoon tea around 4pm. We'll gather around the table in swimsuits and shorts, and she'll bring out cups of milky black tea and homemade lemon cake. Sweet and tangy, the whole cake disappears within minutes. Happily, Angharad from the great blog Eating for England agreed to share her favorite recipe (trust me, you want to make this!!)...
